Trip overview
- Day 1: Cusco – Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes A full-day tour of the Sacred Valley by bus, visiting the sites of Pisac and Ollantaytambo. The day concludes with a train ride to Aguas Calientes for an overnight hotel stay.
- Day 2: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco An early morning visit to the Machu Picchu citadel for a guided tour, followed by free time. In the evening, the tour returns to Cusco by train and bus.
Itinerary
Cusco – Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes
We will travel by private transport from Cusco to visit key locations in the Sacred Valley, including the archaeological sites at Pisac and Ollantaytambo, with a stop for a buffet lunch in Urubamba. In the afternoon, we will take the train from the Ollantaytambo station to Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night in a hotel.
Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco
Early in the morning, we take a bus up to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you will have a guided tour of the site for approximately 2 hours. After the tour, you will have the rest of the day to discover and enjoy more of Machu Picchu on your own. In the evening, we return by train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, where our bus will be waiting to take us back to Cusco.
